I have been under the radar returns in Sparta For over an hour, and I’ve had nothing more than a few sprinkles on the windshield……

BRTN your cool summer forecast isn’t looking so good It's going down in flames...literally, lol. I did preface it with the possibility of the pattern switching on a dime, and it sure did.

This pattern is absolutely brutal No sign of the heat letting up anytime soon That does look brutal. Listening to the radio yesterday and I heard DM say a cold front would come through on Sunday. I see a 30% chance of storms on Sunday but nothing that looks like any sort of a cool down from a cold front. I sure hope DM is right.

The showers on Tuesday did at least prevent a 90+ day so our streak resets and is now back to 1.

Something always has to screw up the good stuff. Now we'll be 5 days short of a record streak of 90 plus days because of clouds one day. Lol

Hanging out in Granada, Spain the last three days. Temps in the 70s, well below normal. Heading back to Seville tomorrow, with temps near to above 100. It's been a great trip. Flying home Monday.

Looking out over the next 5 days the NWS going with 100 F for Tuesday. The NBM is saying 102 F. Both the GFS and Euro show a tongue of high 850mb temperatures flinging out from the west. The airmass is unstable with weak capping so that might kick off some scattered thunderstorms that could suppress the highs for some. Verbatim the Euro is going with 104 F so models are putting out some robust heat next week. You know how it is though...still several days out so things could change. But since this is heat we're talking about and not snow that means it'll probably happen.

At least the dew points arent bad yet. So far, this heat is pretty bearable. That could change if drought conditions continue to build and the thermal ridge hangs out the rest of the summer.

Seems like the heat really tamed down. Only 95 tomorrow now when it was 99 a few days ago. These are good trends. Even today is only low 90s when it was supposed to be upper 90s a few days ago.
Seems like the temps in the ridge are staying pretty tame this year considering. Just typical heat.

Seems like the temps in the ridge are staying pretty tame this year considering. Just typical heat. Yet NOAA says we're all gonna die *rolls eyes* This "HeatRisk" outlook is laughable...they have cities like Indianapolis outlined within the "extreme" category, while the local NWS doesn't even have a heat advisory posted because heat indices are barely over air temp due to low dewpoints. This is about on par with a lot of media outlets "quietly" changing their temperature scales to hotter colors over the years.
