Best of luck Labrat sending prayers and good vibes for your Mom. Looks like this winter is over unless we can get another arctic shot in mid February. Annoying that we only have about a week or so where it is cold enough for accumulating snowfall. Not a fan of arctic pushes. Literally every single arctic air intrusion has resulted in minimal snow. Give me 28-30 degrees. You have a better chance of accumulating snow under those temps rather than 6-8 degrees.

I think it was our Marissa guys.
Pretty sure I took the remaining ones to Goodwill a few months ago.
Online would be the way to do it. I still have contacts that could get it done, but don't have the time to do much else other than send someone the info.
ElKay23 - Columbia, IL, are you willing to design a shirt? Anybody else willing to get the info from dschreib and set up an ordering process on line?

Hilarious seeing old FB posts show up in my FB memories today:
1/25/23: After a forecast of 5-8" of snow, we woke up to 1.5" of nasty cold wet SLOP already half-melted. "System came in slightly weaker than modeled and it took way too long for evaporative cooling to cool the bottom 500ft of atmosphere and switch us to 100% snow for the entire northern half of the metro. The lack of an antecedent cold air mass, the urban heat island around STL and temps being about 1-2F warmer than modeled screwed us."
1/25/21: "34 degrees and absolutely pouring rain. Apparently that's the best January can do in STL now."
1/25/19: Forecast for a lobe of the PV to descend dropping our high temps to single digits. Also forecast for "0 to 2" of snow.
January has become a very frustrating month in these parts in recent years.

Going to be near 84 - 90 hrs of essentially continuous fog come time tomorrow. This wasn't forecasted well. But there were some signs that pointed to it. At the end of day we are dealing with the atmosphere here like our lives. Expect the unexpected. That's one of reasons why I love weather so much. The atmosphere will serve up a piece of humble apple pie. I welcome it.

It might be a crazy long-shot but I think we need to keep an eye on that storm that develops tomorrow into Saturday. There's a north stream wave trying to phase into it that could pull it a bit further N/NW and close it off sooner. There's just enough cold air lurking to it's north to make it interesting if it gets drawn in.
Probably just yet another nothingburger, but worth watching.

You almost have as much as WSC. Gonna be a long 5-10 days of some really nice weather as soon as we can get our lat/long adjusted back to the Midwest from the PacNW. Just glad my livelihood doesn’t depend on winter weather. My mental state however, a different story.

January is always fairly cloudy but I would venture to guess that the Sun has only been out 10% of the entire month.
Next week will be incredibly refreshing.

Cancer is ugly to put it nicely. Lost my Dad in 2012 to a rare small cell cancer. And my FIL is currently in a battle with Glioblastoma, I hate it. Good luck with everything.
On the weather side, again, thankful for warmer temps and moisture of any kind. Living in a small farming community, you take those little victories when they come. Weather can be cruel to farmers at times during the heart of winter and summer. Will be curious to see where we are on the drought monitor next Thursday(or whenever those get released.)

Late 90's we had 2 overlapping broods...anyone remember the year? It was absolutely deafening around the clock. It was 1997 or 98. I remember because we had a lab puppy about 6mo old. Every time she went outside she would catch dozens and swallow them whole. I remember the sound of them going down her throat. For weeks her poop was cicada shells. The hostas were covered in them.

Pretty damn frustrating to see a textbook snowstorm end up being a rainstorm because any cold air is cutoff.

Pretty damn frustrating to see a textbook snowstorm end up being a rainstorm because any cold air is cutoff. Yep,about too throw in the White Flag on this Winter! I know February all the signs teleconnections, etc say Cold and Snow but it just doesn't want to materialize. Will see after 15th but I'm afraid it will keep getting pushed back then the runway ends..I need some positive insight!! Please..I lived in Oregon for 13 yrs maybe it's PTSD this week from all those long wet winters..lol. It's amazing out there but yes some winters are long dreary like what we have been going through.

Mt Hood gets like 400-500 inches within an hour of Portland. Here there is really no escape outside of a plane ticket. We get cold, and wet, but never at the same time. Oh well. El nino sucks. Hope we can cash in with more sub freezing days in the 2nd half of feb.

Yes, I was just looking at the radar loop. This rain is needed, and appreciated. My pond is still low, though finally rising. However, a storm like this would have been much more enjoyable with some cold air available. It sits just about in the sweet spot for us, both geographically and calendar wise. After enduring the extended deep freeze, with little snow to show, it's kind of a kick in the gut, unfortunately.

Worked on the Mt for many years..incredible Snowfall at times..but in the foothills..feast or famine. 2-3ft some storms. Flooding others..seen a lot of both but been here for 12 yrs so it has worn off..so when it's dreary it reminds of those days..

We will see a steady march to normal and then below normal temps starting around 5-8 February. All, and I mean all of them are trending to colder weather starting around the first week of February. I think February will give someone in the viewing area an 8”+ snowstorm. Also, I think this cold has some staying power since it is coming from a more natural (not SSW/PV event related) place. We shall see I suppose.
