And shockingly the ukie now is basically a complete miss Sunday. I couldn't be more surprised if I woke up in the morning with my head sewn to the carpet. Pathetic Storms that move north seem to never come back south, storms that start south, seem to stay south!

Pathetic Nobody's walking out on this fun, old-fashioned Corner letdown. We're all in this together. We're going to press on...and then I can't write any more because the boss told us to keep it clean. I was literally typing this out and went back to quote 99's post..

I'm just gonna forecast 0-2" for every "storm" from here on and see how it plays out.

I'm just gonna forecast 0-2" for every "storm" from here on and see how it plays out. Rain to cold seems like another good option...forever and ever, amen.

I'm just gonna forecast 0-2" for every "storm" from here on and see how it plays out. If there is a huge storm modeled to crush us at D6 there is a better chance we get nothing than anything at all at this point. That is what sucks.

I've been following along for the last week or so, as this weekend looked to have some potential, but man did it just kind of collapse on itself. One thing I've noticed in the upper levels is the jet max on the GFS and NAM isn't out in front of the storm, its centered right in the base of the trough during go time, so I do have a glimmer of hope... a very slight glimmer...

It's a shame if we don't get a little snow with all the cold temps coming. Wasted cold air. But.... we've definitely seen it before. There's still time to see how it plays out.

The ICON, GEM and GFS all looks good for a solid snow for those of us on the south side. I think the Ukie even shows some snow. Only the EURO looks bone dry.

Does look like the atmosphere takes a break after Monday the 15th. 12Z GFS actually keeps us in the freezer for the entirety of its run all the way out to 384H with several reinforcing shots of cold...wants to keep it below or mostly below 32F for the next 2 weeks straight.
Which makes the cold an utter waste if we don't get some snow down before it sets in, because it'll actually stick around for a change.
Pattern looks to recharge and get active again around the 24th or so, so one of two things will happen:
1. Storm pattern will become active again right around the time the arctic air recedes, cutting off the supply of cold air for snow, so more cold rain 2. Cold air sticks around and with a good antecedent airmass FINALLY in place we get missed to the south, north, west, or east...basically everywhere except the STL snow hole gets more snow!
So we have that to look forward to.

Even with an arctic airmass receding, there will still be quite a bit of snowpack to go through. Things definitively look better for us now, than they did when this stretch started.

NWS still sounds confident about accumulating snow along and south of 70 Sunday afternoon and evening
I wish I shared that confidence

My sister states we get snow on the days she is off, since she is able to work from home when it does snow. She has off monday, hopefully the streak continues.

480DM thickness crossing the CAN/US border tomorrow...that's an extremely cold airmass coming our way.
Model trends look pretty bad for tomorrow around here. The NAM does show a supportive setup for snow squalls with -10 to -15*C h85 temps swinging in with good cyclonic flow but QPF is non-existent. We should see a period of snow showers/squalls during the afternoon/early evening but anything significant looks pretty unlikely. The flash freeze and high winds will be the biggest impacts for most.

The 3km NAM does look pretty squally tomorrow afternoon on the sim radar product. And it also shows a little wave of snow moving through Saturday afternoon with the true arctic boundary.
