49 mph from the Davis on the roof in North St. Pete in the last minute. It is really cranking. I'll be curious what the highest gust is. Got a laugh out of it. Got to watch someone trying to walk using an umbrella. Looked like a Charlie Chaplin video. |

I hadn’t been paying attention given how late in the season we are, but apparently we just had a PV split.
Could see one last period of winter the last couple days of March through the first 10 days of April. Would have been nice to get it 6 weeks ago, but hopefully we can get 6 inches of concrete if it’s not going to be warm.

Man... that thing was covering some real estate pretty quickly! Ryan Hall has been doing a live stream on YouTube both yesterday and today. I'm kind of impressed with his coverage and setup there. Today, he was in contact with about 6 storm chasers, including Reed Timmer. Have to say, his coverage is better than the weather channels. |

Took a break from the "weather" yesterday. It was so hard. Actually been trying to catch a break these past few days before our high time hits.
This is shaping up to be quite the Spring severe weather season. Has me very excited, yet overly concerned too.

Looks like the west-based -NAO that is developing is going to dislodge some cold air out of NW Canada and nudge the PV equatorward but the rapid flow off the Pacific and developing GoA trof is going to limit it's ability to penetrate into the lower 48 en masse. I don't see a lot of support for snow or a hard freeze around here...maybe a decent front around the 3rd/4th of April looking at ensemble mean forecasts...but nothing eye popping so far.
Morel season looking promising at this point...*crosses fingers*

50-60 degree ground temps the longer the better
Good soil moisture
No hard freezes
Some say the more snow the more shrooms you find...
