I had 31* for my low temp this morning. That's what the remote sensor said. I was not awake. After going riding at St. Joe Park with my son-in-law and grandson on Saturday, they were on motorcycles and I had my 4 wheeler. Another friend and his son had a side by side and another motorcycle. Fun was had by all, but I felt it this morning. Just like a workout, only funner, more fun, whatever. (If you don't get hurt) It was pretty chilly Sat morn but was nice by the afternoon. Very windy though. The mud kept the dust down.

So, the sap gathering this year was a little lackluster. Just under 5 gallons from 4 maples. That’s not the bad part though. I put what I had on the stove to boil down. Then went outside to do some much needed yard work. Needless to say, got sucked into something completely unrelated with absolutely no brain power being committed to the boiling sap. The realization didn’t come even when my son calmly asked me to come inside because something was terribly wrong. Returned to the house to a find it full of smoke. Needless to say the sap boiled down, then crystallized, then turned into what possibly could be a new eco-friendly styrofoam. Not a good year for maple syrup in my household. The picture is about 3” thick of some unknown state of maple syrup. To end on a good note, it’s smells like burnt Christmas in my house.

Looks like nice sleeping weather tonight on the HRRR with steady rain from about 9 to 10PM all the way to 5 or 6AM then some more rain mid morning, another break then a marginal risk of severe storms mainly from the metro on west with marginally severe hail and a spin up tornado or 2 (EF0-EF1 kind of set up if anything). Should be a pretty decent rain unless your the NAM or RGEM/GEM that isn't too impressed and keeps the the immediate metro mostly dry through the system.

Looks like a solid severe weather regime starting up for a few weeks as we head into the final days of March and into the first 10 days or so of April.

A friend if mine left his sap boiling in a pot in his barn. Went into the house, got side tracked, came back out to smoke pouring out of the barn. He rushed in, and it was actually flaming. He was lucky it didn't burn the building down.

Antarctica beating high temperature records by huge margins. Some by 40* ..Celsius! Insanity. Lol Yikes. There are those that believe that this is being driven from below and not above.

Somebody needs a new pair of underpants... and then needs to go straight to church to say a prayer of thanksgiving! No kidding, wow! Great video It's not a Dodge Ram. But my first thought was this was lost footage of Bill and Jo Harding in Twister! 🤣 In the movie that truck took more damage that I've ever seen in a movie. Was starting to think it was invisible until they decided to drive it right into the F5 at the end. All kidding aside. This person was extremely lucky. Thank goodness.

Hey guys as you alluded to snowman these videos give me chills watching the twister. I know with la nina that can spell trouble in the coming weeks in our area as if I remember correctly 2011 was a la nina that year with that crazy spring.
Let's just hope for more tame spring weather this year.
