It’s crazy how areas just west of St. Louis have WAY more snow and they changed over a couple hours after St. Louis county . From wentzville/lake St. Louis west the there is big difference than the metro area . Maybe around an inch in the river port / earth city area . I heard there’s close to 3” around wentzville

Disappointed with our lack of snow here but thoroughly enjoying the light snowfall at the moment and the birds swarming my feeders. Peaceful. Also, I thank all you wise folks who really know your stuff and keep this site a place of learning and fun to be a part of.

Well we had plans to sled. I’d guess there’s enough out there for a single run before we hit grass. When’s the next disappointment?

Close to 1.5" looking outside. I don't know when it started snowing. Looks like radar echos are weakening quickly over Jeffco.

At least this was not a total disappointment, I will take these couple inches, now it is winding down but it is very pretty. Can anyone who lives in st.peters confirm the 2 inches. As I did measure on a flat surface

33 degrees here with fluffy flakes falling. Looks like a half inch of coverage, but that's just an eyeball guess. I have not stepped out yet. Listened to the rain hitting the metal roof all night long it seemed with temps in the mid 30s. At least my pond got some needed runoff.
3 miles North of Bonne Terre.

Look at the bright side--we've doubled our yearly snowfall amount. We're up to two traces! Or maybe a trace plus a dusting, whatever that is!

As you know we have been disappointed down this way many of times but this one really ticks me off …..it’s January, precipitation came in at night and heck the temp yesterday was 36 degrees here …….

Looks like some colder temps on the way next week. I’m sure there will be no moisture to work with.

A day of snow that doesn't really amount to much is still better than: a) a day of rain, and b) 100*

At one point we got close to two inches here. Melting the whole time and now that’s it’s slowed down it’s melting fast.

Just measured exactly 2.0" in St. Peters with just a bit of very light snow still falling.
Did not transition to snow as quickly as I thought and it was definitely that pesky 2C warm layer just above the surface. Was able to get some of that to wetbulb out near 850mb but couldn't quite get that last little bit near 925mb until much later.

Can’t take an official measurement since it didn’t stick to the measuring board, or concrete or anything really for that matter, you might stretch the accumulation to .5” on bare ground, and that’s probably too much of a stretch

I was very happy with the couple inches wish it was more but, still could of been a lot worse.
I am going to do my best like I did this morning with my measurements going forward like on a deck rail or pic nic table. But I am very happy to see the reports were the same as I had around my area confirming everything.
Now we wait for whats next. I know I heard some of you mention a possible little dusting potential tomorrow night. Does that still look possible?
