An inch of really wet stuff but coming down still at a moderate rate, covered the dog completely in her 5 minutes outside. Radar still shows quite a bit of moisture working in from the SW. Maybe we verify if it snows till noon or later. Radar doesn't look promising if you are too far east.

I'd say there is a one hundred percent chance that this isn't three to five inches of snow. What a waste of time.

Switched over about 730 here. Picking up in intensity with big flakes but I don’t know if we will have time for it to accumulate. It’s really gonna need to come down.

Snowing here at 33 and it’s not sticking……. Dry as a bone here unfortunately, but not unexpected....the slightest look of a dusting here.

None of those pictures are of anything that could help give an amount. Research how to measure snow. It's on this board several times

Forecast might actually verify in spots, which is good; but it's becoming more and more evident that we all need to get together and sacrifice some animals or have some sort of sacrificial burning. Something. Anything.
We can all agree that this was an odd setup. How we didn't manage to overcome a super shallow layer of temps not very much above freezing is just mind-boggling.

Our forecast will verify at 2 inches. We said from start to finish 2-4. I don't see anyone near STL getting 4, but 2 looks good..maybe 3.
The eastern/outer edge is always a tough call... and we knew there would be a snow hole somewhere.
I expected changeover between 9pm and midnight in STL... that obviously did not happen.
Those aircraft soundings showed a very small +2c layer not far off the surface that seemed to be a major limiting factor to getting a clean changeover earlier.
Just a strange storm... and all around unpleasant forecast experience.

There had to be some weak WAA just above the surface last night. A few times flakes would start mixing in only for it to switch back to rain.

Smallish flakes, but a crap-ton of them right now in Marissa. Nice to see, but about 8 hours after I thought they'd start coming down at this rate.

If you have a setup like this with system coming from NW, starting right at dark and literally during the coldest time of the year, with ample moisture, you’re hard pressed to not be disappointed. But once again, great job Chris and everyone else on here. I’ll always say, 75% of the fun is the tracking.

33* and snow here. Very small flakes coming down at moderate rate and starting to collect on the ground and make the green grass have spots of white. The snow is hardly enough to measure to much more than a dusting across the grass. Bummer this didn’t change over earlier.

I'm glad Chris has a place to come where he has a group that pretty much gets it, and he can blow off some steam if he needs to.
I never would have thought I'd need the sun to come back up before the lower 2000' cooled off enough. I assume the easterly flow was just enough to eat away at the onset (obviously didn't think that was going to be an issue), and the precip rate just wasn't enough to do it's thing, at least not on the eastern edges where temps were probably even closer to freezing in those last couple thousand feet. I got nothin' else...
