Twisted Tree has some good steak. Never heard of it until just now. Gonna have to check that out. You won't be disappointed.

I'll buy Chris, Brtn, Coz, wsc, weatherjason, guyatacomp, bear and 920..and everyone else a steak dinner if Lambert and Union get 1 inch or more of snow next week. The dang fine print. ** THe offer above isn't valid if it snows 1 inch or more in Union or at Lambert.

Snuck another post in the last thread after it was locked, lol.
Models definitely have a better look next week but the large scale pattern is marginal and looks kinda "thread the needle" with the cold air connection and whether or not anything can actually develop. We've seen models show a similar pattern at this range and revert back to the seasonal trend as it gets closer, so take it with a grain of salt. But the surface pattern looks decent with the elongated ridge over the N tier and an inverted trof/secondary development underneath.
That may be our only hope for a while if longer range modeling is right. With the vortex lifting back towards the pole while the trof gets re-established across the Gulf of AK and the -NAO breaking down that's a good recipe for a downslope/blowtorch flow.

GEFS dosent look half bad for snow chances.
I’m remaining very skeptical of snow next week though. The pattern just doesn’t seem conducive.

Never heard of it until just now. Gonna have to check that out. Me, as well. Yes…but they prepare the salad table-side which makes absolutely no sense to me. Just bring out the salad. No need for a display.

Heard some thunder this morning. Enough rain to get the ground wet. I have had my head so far into the future (weather-wise) I did not know we had a chance of thunder this morning......5 claps of sounded great, but I would have covered my huge bags of shredded leaves last night if I would have been paying attention. The ground is nice and wet. Stay safe on the roads everyone, been awhile since it rained.

My grandma actually lives up the street from the now closed Top of the Tower. Amazing and sad to hear how different that area used to be. We used to live not too far from there. My mom liked to go there for her birthday a week before Christmas and look at the Christmas lights on the houses in that neighborhood from that vantage point. I haven't been back there in more than a decade. The changes have been amazing and I agree that it's sad to see the deterioration of that building.

Models have been too aggressive with cold in the 6 to 10 day range this fall... so I suspect any rush to get cold and stay cold long enough for any decent snow is in error. They have also tried to dig northern stream energy too far southwest to match the errant cold. That said... I do see a system Tuesday night into wednesday that looks like a classic rain to cold setup... but could be enough cold and lagging dynamics to get some mood flakes around Wednesday as the cold air rushes south.

If it's gonna torch in December, might as well go for the gold and break some records. Maybe record warmest December, or an 80 degree day or 2 sneaked in there. Haven't got to wear my sleeveless shirts enough this year... (wink, wink)

Yeah, that's ugly. Hopefully the timing will set up a better pattern by Christmas but I'm not holding my breath.

I've never heard of it either but Top of the Towers brings back fond memories of dating my wife there while we were still in high school. Later after we were married until it closed. We still miss it and the Spinning Salad. What a shame...

Dave's December forecast is in huge trouble. I mean like it has no chance of coming close. That's too bad.
