Garden variety sized flakes but coming down hard. Grass is all but covered. Visibility down to 1/4 mile or so again. City salted the street so it's just wet. Driveway has an icy, crusty 1/2“.

Guesstimating 2.5” here (edwardsville). Thinking we hit 3” with this last band. This one definitely beat my expectations

Measured about 1/2 inch so far but coming down really good...... I think we have a decent shot at an additional inch or so looking at the radar.... I’m happy !! Should be a helluva drive home from work. I should just sleep here.

Just got home 5 Miles SW of Desoto. Hwy 67 S was partially to completely covered in many spots on my way home. We have right at 1/2” of snow w/ a temp of 26. Currently snowing lightly w/ some good sized flakes falling. Love it!

I-55 is an absolute sheet of ice and snow. Wtf modot. Rain would have washed away anything they put down early. Once it changed over, though, they should've been all over it. I was in the unfortunate spot of sending everybody home in the middle of it or just waiting it out. I chose waiting it out. I don't think there was a good choice.

Should be a helluva drive home from work. I should just sleep here. The wife just drove home from Belleville and said traffic was moving around 35 mph..... she said roads were pretty slick in spots but not to bad yet but visibility was the bigger issue... it’s flat pouring snow right now

As for this storm... a weird one. It is not often we get what is essentially a 100% cold frontal, frontogenesis driven snow...especially one that sticks so quickly after being in the 60s two days in a row!
The mesoscale models did a nice job catching on to the banding...but as expected they did a poor job of placing leaving me with little confidence on where to emphasize a higher threat of enhanced snow. I opted for "Dusting to 2 inches" ...to get in the neighborhood...but that will be a little skimpy for folks up north and eadt. but I did mention icy/slushy roads for this afternoon and evening...and a rough PM drive... so I get partial credit there.
FYI... Lambert is at 1.3 inches... breaking the record of 1911!

Looks like you all have a at least another hour of this snow. Very surprised COU only came out with 1.1"... they reported 0.05" of liquid at the onset of precip, but only recorded a trace when the snow was falling at its heaviest... local report out of Ashland, where the airport is located had 2.8" as well...
aka I'm not buyin' it...

Today's record snow breaks a record set during one of the most historic weather events in St. Louis history! The single greatest temperature drop EVER in a single day... 60 degrees. A day that produced (at the time) both a record high and low temperature.
