Somewhere in between. They did briefly get larger... but now it has all but stopped.

3" near Union Station. 2" in my Belleville back yard.
Side roads are icing up with snow accumulation expecially North facing.
Back roads are snow covered.
The forecasters IMO undersold this one

All my normal measuring spots are no use. The wind has made it difficult at best. If I had to guess... just shy of 3/4 of an inch maybe. We were in a hole for about 45 minutes as it first changed over to snow. It has been a steady moderate snow now for 2 hours. Some 5 to 10 minute bursts of SN+. From Mascoutah... yay

The radar as a very clear signature that low-level dry air is really eating into our snow now

Was pouring in downtown Clayton! Anxious to see how the snow east of Jefferson City acts in the metro. Snowstorm920 has a great point...it's much easier than this morning for it to add up with temps in the mid 20s. Right now up through sunset, the sun angle is decreasing as well. It's more like a fluffy snow now. I expect the evening commute to be more than interesting with potentially some problems.

Back to a good moderate clip in Alton...M1.7" on an elevated surface in the shade. You should still be getting a good snowfall rate!

The flash freeze potential is going to make for a rough commute in spots...hope the road crews are on top of things this afternoon.

Friv, any death bands? No but the models are conflicting right now and what to do the next 3 hours. The nams and rgem roll an enhanced band through the central metro between now and 5-6pm. The short term models Dry this feature out quickly and redevelop snow South of STL. Currently the radar shows an intensifying band of snow pressing into the immediate metro. Even thoughDry air is undercutting the precip. Sufficient lift combined with quickly rising snow liquid ratios could yield another 1-2". and cause some major problems for the evening Rush hour. Solar insolation pretty much balls off a cliff after 3:30 by 4 the roads are going to be vulnerable to becoming snowpack and iced over quickly

Flake size increasing, about an inch I say now.
Record low for today is 18 correct? It's 25 right now at Lambert, can it drop to 17 or 18 by midnight? Looks like the snow record is in the bag

Gosh, is that snow band going to close in over me or am I going to be dry slotted this whole storm? Saw some sleet earlier, but I’m super jealous that most of you are seeing flakes.

I haven't measured yet, just shoveled walk and deck. My guess somewhere between 3 to 4 inches here. Have at least 4 inches on the deck, but deck table close to 3. The wind,Wow! Had this been a 6-8 inch snow, the drifting would have been crazy!

Yep, I under estimated this one obviously. Especially for peeps just and nw and ne of here. The sleet certainly helped getting the roads colder. Luckily I'm not a forecaster.

I am closing in on 1" on the railings of back deck, 7 miles west of De Soto. A good blanket of snow on the grass but blades of grass are still showing. Light snow falling now. 26*
