I'm in Osage Beach this weekend. Lots of lightning in the western sky even though the line is still 60+ miles off.

I'll be honest, some of the latest trends have me questioning if any significant rain will make it into the metro. Coverage may end up being much more spotty and much less widespread... which is a big change compared to what was being portrayed 24 hours ago. The fact that 700mb temperatures are in the 13-14 range is not encouraging either. That's very warm and may be tough the break through. Yeah, that's far from ideal...also noticed that there's mid-level height rises forecast despite the shortwaves trickling though. May be be tough to sustain deep convection. A lot will hinge on how organized those storms to the W/Nw get and if they send an outflow ahead of it to get storms going before instability wanes. It's warm and humid out right now but those storms have a long way to go. Well that stinks. Our troubles getting decent rain in here continues

Well you were certainly on target with your skepticism, Chris. 5 minutes of light rain about 4 AM seems to be the extent of my precipitation. And it looked so promising.

0.01" of "heavy rain" so far..."not great"
Upstream radar looks somewhat encouraging though with widespread storm development across NW MO...models have it getting very CAPE-y today ahead of the front.

Is there a map that consolidates years of drought maps to see which areas in Missouri have spent “x” amount of time in “drought” conditions. I’m sure there would be a way to overlay for severity?
Seems certain areas of our state have traditionally been hit harder than others, but would be interesting to look at along with a topographical overlay.

The Davis on the roof in North St. Pete is sorely disappointed to report 0.0 I noticed the sidewalk was damp, but that's it. More please.

There's hope. A number of thundershowers have developed. But there's a gap right along I-70 that I'll probably slide through and get skunked again.

I’d be ok if the northern and central areas got some rain and the southern flank dried up today. Pool day with friends planned this afternoon/evening. We had ours earlier this week.

Im going to mow... that way it's sure to start raining here. I've had about a hundred raindrops today, that is, until I started the barbecue for a big family get together at the house. So there's a second way to guarantee rain.😁

Cold front is still up near IRK...plenty of time for the juice to let loose and there's ample clearing across much of the region. Shear is relatively weak but at ~25kts that will allow for multi-cell clusters to develop with a marginal severe risk. These will likely be very hit or miss with only subtle large-scale ascent. But they could pack a punch in a few spots.

A change of fortunes, I've received plenty of rain this week IMBY. I had 2.75 inches in my guage over the course of the past 4 days or so. Pond is full and grass is green.
Hopefully those of you that need it can get some.

We now have Hurricane Beryl in the Atlantic Forecasted to become a major hurricane when it strikes the windward islands in a couple days. It looks like after that it will weaken and head west into Mexico

I passed a lot of Electric Utility trucks this morning on I57/I24, on the way back from the farm in S Illinois. They were headed southbound and must have been 30-40 trucks total running in groups. We now have Hurricane Beryl in the Atlantic Forecasted to become a major hurricane when it strikes the windward islands in a couple days. It looks like after that it will weaken and head west into Mexico

Looking like a nothing burger with the cold front around here. I guess I should be happy with the tenth today since that doubles what we've had in the past 3 weeks or more *shrug*

The few rain drops that postponed the starting of the barbecue was all that fell along with the earlier 100 drops. Feeling 'shafted' over the last 24 hours 7 miles west of De Soto.

Staying at the SE corner of the Grand Glaize bridge. Obviously don't have any measurements but I would estimate a crapload of rain earlier and it is starting in again. Gotta love Missouri.

Big plans for the 4th. We'll get it then I haven't really looked at the 4th much but I saw a PWAT forecast posted that showed a corridor of 2"+ values along 70...looked like a heavy rainfall setup. I'm sure it'll turn to light showers by Tuesday, lol.
