Long time lurker, but I took some decent video of the storm around the Bond/Fayette county line looking north around 6:30 this evening. I think it was a decent wall cloud. Definitely had some locals out looking. I posted to Chris’s live feed, but not sure how to post here. It fell apart as it moved east.

If the hodograph and instablity verified that would be explosive. Winds were more veered today around here than what models had shown...and the deeper lift just didn't seem to be there this far S/SW

According to this study the Hunga-Tonga effect will peak in North America between years 3 and 7. It looks like for us the NW to SE temperature gradient will ease up and the troughing will be east based putting us in the northwest flow. If correct (big IF) we might expect a decrease in the frequency of GYB systems and an increase in clippers if I'm understanding the pattern correctly. It's just one modeling study so take it with a grain of salt for now.

A lot of tomorrow will come down to how quickly the morning convection clears the area.
If it gets out of here quickly you will have early spring kinematics combined with later summer thermals.

I think we all just need to hope for rain well into the morning tomorrow. We dont need anymore severe weather.

Roofing postponed until Thursday. UGH If its not leaking, might as well wait until the storm passes. Don't want to be like my roof where it gets replaced and then boom, another bigger hail storm comes through.

Interesting stat out of pah, that wfo issued 228 warnings in july. Previous july record was 135 in 2012.
Also, that was the 2nd most warnings ever issurd for ANY month. The all time record is 319 in april 2011.
What an amazing july for that part of the country and western parts of our region into central mo.

As it looks right now, the heaviest rain sags south of St. Louis as will the severe threat. The timing and orientation of the system and antecedent rainfall seems to be conspiring against severe weather in our area at this time. We'll have a better feel in the morning... but as of right now I'm not too jazzed about severe or heavy rain...except for maybe the far southernmost counties closer.
