Jealous of the lightning to the NW. Never thought I’d say I wish it would rain…
On a good note, I finally got the mole today that’s been destroying the front field.

Did you use a scissors trap, like one from WireTeK? those are very good traps. Between me and my neighbor we probably nabbed about 6 of the buggers this Spring. I nabbed 3 in my own yard and the neighbors trap got 2, his dog caught another one. Haven't seen any new mole activity in about 3 months now...

1st 2 years we lived here, 2004-2006 we didn't have any moles in our neighborhood, then when they built the Belleville Crossing Shopping Center down the road, the moles moved up to the 'old growth' subdivisions like ours and just exploded. They've been a problem ever since.

Also it feels hotter and more humid now at night then it ever did during the day. It's like a Sauna out there.

Well I watered the potted plants and grass in the backyard I'm trying to grow (Bermuda Grass), so that will either be the 'Kiss of Death' for rain chances in the Belleville area anyway, or the thing that saves us and we get hammered around 2-5AM. We'll see how it goes.

Moderate shower here and just heard first rumble of thunder. Radar looks a bit meager to say the least. 7 miles west of De Soto.

Well it did the Belleville Bypass, we got about a tenth inch or so last night as the ground is wet and not just from my overnight watering, but it's not much. Looks like it's refiring south of I-44 into Marissa and Mt. Vernon, IL

0.8" overnight with multiple rounds of storms. It really came together on the tail end...was getting worried that it was going to fizzle. Some impressive strobe lightning to the SE with the first round of storms too.
Looks like parts of MO that have been very dry are getting good rain this morning. If the active pattern towards next weekend pans out, this mini-drought may be short lived.

.65" here. Lost power for a couple hours overnight. Mascoutah has had several power outages in the last few weeks. Are all of your lines above ground?

In my neighborhood, into the houses is underground. From the power station to the neighborhood is above ground. Every now and then, when lightning hits the poles out where ther power gets to the neighborhood, the power goes. Most of mascoutah is above ground.

I’m at the farm in Vienna, in the Shawnee, and it’s been storming since around 5am. Approximately 1.5” so far. Had about a 2 hour break, and getting ready to hit again.we really needed this, especially the food plots. The 3 acres of sunflowers/peas look great, but they have been in the ground for a while, and the Egyptian wheat/ milo looks great that went in at the same time. This rain will really jump start the rest of the plots. We’ve only had .25” this month.
