Temp just spiked to 47. Full sun with very thin clouds in St.Peters at the moment. Definately does not feel like snow on the missouri side Your thermometer/hygrometer sensor is in the wrong spot... Sounds like it’s in full sunlight

Mine is 6 feet off the ground on the back side of my porch pole as that gets no sun, all shade. I think it is reading just right overall

Illinois side is 10 to 15 degrees colder than missouri side, hope that cold air moves west Ya I was just looking at that. Temps in IL are holding in the mid 30s while the Mo side is spiking well into the 40s. Good news with an easterly wind those colder temps should advect westward.

I am up to 48*, make that 49* under the same milky sunshine skies. I don't believe I have broke into full sunshine yet today. Feeling tropical 7 miles west of De Soto.

Colder equals drier? Could play against totals on this side of the river...

Just got home from errands. Went from completely overcast to high clouds and sunny. 46 degrees, RH 71%. Off of 109, halfway between Wildhorse Creek and Manchester.
I take the blame, I just started making chicken soup....and I washed the back of my car window.

Definitely some enhanced warming SW of the boundary but I wouldn't sweat it too much...it's on the move even without wetbulbing/dynamical cooling and snow loading occurring.
As Chris would say, steady as she goes...

Personally, I can't wait until the first flakes start flying.....I have always hated/loved this part of the 'steps process' (whichever one it is) that we always seem to to get on. Hello, my name is amstilost....and I keep doing the same thing over and over and over again expecting different results.

Des Moines area getting pounded. Snow shield really starting to form. I thought that as well, but traffic cameras in the area suggest it is having a hard time sticking. I'm not sure if that means anything for us but they are forecast for 6-10".

I almost want to attach my accurite thermometer to my drone and watch how fast the temp drops as it slowly elevates.

Currently looking at Goes-East WV 'lower' WV loop. I see a wave in central S. Dakota diving south. I can not locate the other wave that is supposed to phase with this. Or is it not in the picture yet? Can anyone post a pic with areas highlighted please.

Des moinse may be struggling because it is marginal temps during peak heating, and least our snow is coming at dark

Becoming pretty obvious the models that shifted further W are probably wrong...the baroclinic zone is tightening up right along the river valley. If anything, the system is coming in just a tad NE but it looks pretty close to the runs that pegged the band right down the river valley into the Metro. Still think most of the region is in a great spot...far W/SW counties could have some mixing issues for the first part of the storm but will still get snowfall as the cold airmass pushes further S.
