18z gfs looks great next weekend at this range.
Ends up not quite cranking as much as I expected, but conceptually the lead wave coaxes down the cold air and a surface low is close to the benchmark.
Not a bad look 7 days out

I still think we are grasping at straws with any snow here. Lol
But it would be so nice!

I'm way more interested with the Tuesday potential than next weekend as far as snow is concerned. Still think strong storms are more likely with that system.

Hopefully the FGEN snow comes to us on Tues/Wed. Crazy to watch this shortwave intensify as it moves east into the Great Lakes/East Coast. It seems to happen so much.

Great general track in the upper levels and surface for us next Sat on the 00z GFS! Borderline temps though, but super early. A good setup for deformation snow.

Sounds like you need to clean the gutters out if they overflowed this morning

Apparently, I am on the wrong side of St. Pete. According to the Davis on the roof in North St. Pete we only had .05" Barely got the street wet. We need some rain. Wish me luck, please. I'm getting a brand new right knee in the morning. To say I am nervous about it is an understatement.

My gutters are fine, it was a torrential downpour at 530. Wish somoeone else lived in the willot rd area of st.peters to back me. I was shocked at how intense it was.

My best advice is do everything the drs. and physical therapists tell you to do!

Looks largely dry the rest of the month after today. Most models not even showing moisture with Tuesday anymore and even the weekend is iffy at best. Looks like the blast furnace is back as well after this week with not much cold till well after the Holidays, think more like MLK Day time into February.

Euro screams tornado outbreak in the Tennessee Valley late week. Might be trying to kick off a secondary low for us Saturday night into Sunday but otherwise prior to that not much if anything.

CFS 768hr run pretty much showing a Winter Cancelled for it's 0Z run. Might still get our 2011-2012 Winter just with a few global dynamics changed a bit but otherwise arriving to the same outcome.
Let's give it another 4-6 weeks though before we really write the season off though.

The CFS is worthless, but it’s latest run shows historic cold for February…

2 out of 3 seasonal winter forecasts that I follow look to bust. (Dave Murray’s and Terry Swail’s). John Dee’s is the only one that is showing some accuracy, but it’s unfortunately not very exciting for snow lovers.
Here’s to hoping things change, but the pattern we are in appears to have some staying power.
