I was surprised to see healthy TStorm tops well off to the south on my drive back into town. I hope the line up north builds up some more to the west or I might be left out.

Was quite windy here for a time... not sure but looked like gusts close to 50 here. Already an inch of rain in 35 minutes.

a little early and i cld completely reverse my thinking after october. but this winter looks like one of those winters that we had a few years ago where the pacific northwest gets a lot cold and snow with a pretty progressive pattern in this part of the country. i wonder if we might see a back loaded winter, where we get the majority of our snow as winter transitions into spring. also wondering abt potential for wintertime thunderstorms.

After looking like some showers would move over me from last night's radar just before bed, I see looking at a 12 hour loop there is a negative force field in this area. If someone could give me the mathematics/explanation as to why this seems to happen so much in this area it would be great. Just saying 'The Arch Effect' seems hollow to me anymore. I think I am ready for more of a scientific/study related answer. Is there any specific studies on this anywhere?

Being in a river valley and downstream of the ozark plateau promotes sinking motion in the atmo across the immediate area.

We seem long overdue for a cool season severe weather outbreak around here.

Any signs of Fall in the models? Models are picking up on a pretty good cold front towards next weekend but that's going to hinge on whether or not there's a tropical storm like the GFS shows which would hold it up.

Wow, so Trent Garvey, who happens to be my cousin, just won this season of Hell's Kitchen! It was actually taped 2 years ago, he had to keep it a secret. Amazing job. Congrats Chef Trent! Spoiler alert--I haven't watched the final yet...
I was going to ask if you knew him.

Woke up early this morning to see storms just to the south around Farmington and thought surely we got a little. Nope not a drop.

Saw a 49 on my way to work on the truck this morning in the valley. Desert like climate with a 35 to 45 degree temp rise by afternoon from some of these coldest numbers

cpc has an 'average' La Nina pattern in their outlook pretty much. Too bad many other factors go into how the season plays out. Not just La nina or El Nino or La Nada.
