My son will be driving home from school Tuesday... with a passenger. Both will be wearing masks. But we have a weird situation. He supposedly had covid 6 weeks ago. He spent 3 weeks in covid prison. Had little if any symptoms (praise the Lord) BUT... now... a month later.. tested negative for antibodies. Sooooooooooo... we are going to treat him as if he has not had it. It stinks that we aren't sure. But we also don't want to risk it. We are also treating him as a possible carrier... so he will be in quasi-quarantine when he gets home. Maybe by spring we will really turn the corner.

Don't the antibody tests give a lot of false readings still. They did a few months ago, but have they improved? This country is a damn mess right now.

00z euro much more aggressive with the low midweek... looks to suggest a severe threat.

Wasn't it just suppose to sprinkle tonight? Lol.
I didn't get the latest forecast. Last I heard, most wet was to hold off until Sat night.

My cousin’s memorial service had to be postponed because his son-in-Law is critical. Both are Covid victims. One was older with medical issues. The other, a very healthy 58 year old. Scary times.

Covid is sure odd. My 82 year old Mom had it. Only way we found out was that she had fallen and was confused. They took her to Mercy to check her out and did Covid test. It came back positive. They say confusion is a big sign in older adults. She is in rehab and came off quarantine yesterday. Bad thing is she is still confused. She had no other symptoms at all.

12z ggem is extremely cold at the end of its run and even has an interesting storm.
12z gfs is totally different. It has a goofy cutoff to kick off December that would be a real headache to forecast.
Things are at least a little more interesting to look at now.
Baby steps.
Also, next week looks like plenty of rain for the region if you are worried about that kind of thing.

That GEM run reminds me of this storm from a couple years ago. Don't think it ever produced true blizzard conditions in our DMA tho. www.weather.gov/eax/2018ThanksgivingWeekendBlizzard2

Stupid lake left me with rain until the very end. Would rather skip a sequel to that.

I think about all you can say right now is that the models are beginning to signal building cold and the potential for it to begin releasing. Good sign going forward considering the active storm track seems to be going nowhere.

12z euro deserves some attention.
Hell of a storm late next weekend and early the following week.
Even brings some accumulating snow to parts of the metro.
Near blizzard conditions further north

Ive been out in the woods all day. I have heard at least a dozen big flocks of Snows flying south today. Started at daybreak, and occasionally still flying over. Either that or its the same flock flying in a circle!

Either that or its the same flock flying in a circle! I spent the day hunting ducks in the IL river bottoms and we saw quite a few flocks headed south, as well as specklebellies and a flock of sandhill cranes which is a rare sight around here.

seems like the GEFS is attempting to trend towards the EURO/GEM solutions. The 18z gfs got a little closer as well. Was a bit disappointed in the 12z euro control, but it’s still in fantasyland, so no big deal.
