Best guesses on timing Sunday? We’ll be driving back from Columbus, leaving around 8a central time, so home around 2ish.

Snowmen are masters of the pregnant pause.
Sorry to hear about your pup, STG.
In town for a funeral today, so I'm hoping for no monkey business from M.N. until at least tonight.
Hope everyone sees a bit of winter with this one!

That's good. This is a really tough set up that can really leave those in the Southern 2/3 very bitter tasting.

That's good. This is a really tough set up that can really leave those in the Southern 2/3 very bitter tasting. Yeah, I'm glad I am due east of the metro. I am on the southern edge of the accumulations as is. If this were more amplified and not shearing, I'd be screwed most likely.

Thanks again for all the kind words and personal stories. It honestly means a great deal to me. This place has gotten myself and many others through much “more than weather” over the years.
Weather wise..the nam has significantly dropped the surface temps for two runs in a row now. That makes a major difference for us southern folk.

What are we looking at, timing wise, for start times across the area?

NAM has joined phase 2 party... That second wave looks showery on the Precip output. Almost like a bunch of snow squalls put together. Do you know what's causing that? This is a wild probably wrong guess, but the influence of gravity waves. There must be some convection (CSI) going on I guess.

The NAM often looks squirley on pivotal weather... not sure why... but the QPF output is quite impressive with phase 2.

I just cherry picked a couple of soundings in phase two... a lot of that snow could be sleet. The atmosphere dries out fast mid/top of the DGZ.

The name picked up on snow as the rain ends this morning.
I'm cautiously optimistic about the next system I just have a feeling anyone along 44 and South if 70 is going to be really disappointed snow wise
The nam also has like nothing with the wAA precip in St Louis

In a matter of two model runs the name
You like literally loses the entire low level jet feature.
last night the name had the nose of the low level jet coming off 35-40kts reaching far northern viewing area.
This morning it has the low level jet barely reaching the far Southern counties with only half that wind speed.
So take the nam with a huge grain of salt
