Looks to me the ensembles are showing rather mild conditions thru mid December. The Pacific jet looks to spread mildness over the country. Possibly

Piping in from ‘the upper Midwest”. That was a hell of a winter wallop with the first round. About a foot of snow, blowing sideways.significant wind gusts, power outages in the area. Local roads stink now on a county level. Wet heavy snow, so very little drifting. Aunt has a good snowblower but that stuff was too heavy. Cousin used a plow blade on an atv for the driveway, and we all shoveled paths. We’re all leaving two days early because they’re going to get hit again. Her location could get another foot of snow. Add mixed precipitation and we’re all running south at dawn tomorrow else we risk getting stuck. Still might have some issues, so this drive could be an adventure.

Wave blowing through STL county just dropped an inch with quite a bit of cloud to ground action, that's one way to wake up.

Well, it's a bit late, but here we go. I'm thankful this is all rain instead of snow, since I love rain so much and the ground will dry up in the next couple days. I'm also thankful for sarcasm.

I won't say " if it only it were December or January" haha. That didn't work out so well for us in December last year.

Soundings around the area still showing instability in the afternoon tomorrow into the early evening as low level lapse rates steepen and the DGZ lowers.
