Looks like by next Thursday things will definitely start to cool off. Does anyone else see that in the models?

Had two BRIEF (like less than two minutes twice brief) just after 7 AM. By 730 the sun was trying to come out.
Glad we weren't expecting snow with that kind of performance

Keep an eye on Friday for severe weather especially for areas west and northwest of St. Louis.

I am really hoping the rain stays north Friday and Saturday. We have a Cub Scout Campout at Onondaga State Park.

I got banned from this page for calling out their BS...they are forecasting an "arctic outbreak" with record lows and a snowstorm across the Upper Midwest during the first week of October with "round after round" of arctic air. Bold forecast, lol. m.facebook.com/pg/Meteorologists

I just wasted 90 minutes of my life watching THE worst weather movie of all time on youtube. "Devil Winds" It was beyond painful.

That dude over there at Facebook Meteorologists is a piece of work. If you do enough poking around you'll go down a non-weather related rabbit hole that will have you snickering & cringing... Makes the goofball at Facebook Oklahoma Weather Network look like a professional.

So nice out today...hard to believe we are looking at another week of upper 80's/low 90's starting tomorrow. Tomorrow looks pretty toasty with the thermal ridge working in and h85 temps 20-22*C. Luckily there will be a good breeze with a strong LLJ overhead. Saturday could go either way depending on convective trends and where exactly the front ends up. But Sun-Wed just looks downright hot with the ridge in full control.

After looking at the location of the thermal ridge...and getting comfortable with the limited impact from any morning storms down near I-70... I have bumped highs up to record levels for today. Southwest winds, a thermal ridge ahead of a cold front... all spell highs at or above 90 for the metro. The record for today is 91.... set in 1891! That is definitely in jeopardy IMO.

Dave's Sept forecast. It'll probably end up being warmest Sept ever.
Oops.
. *** Let’s start the month...first 5-6 days on the warm to hot side...then we begin the turn...with a downward trend for the bulk of the month. *** In the end game...This will be more of the beginning of Fall rather than the end of Summer. *** When the month is over...temperatures will be below average...the hot start will keep temps from begin well below average. *** I don’t see any records...day or night when it comes to temperatures...and I don’t see any frost or freeze concerns...but there will be chilly nights at times...especially late month *** What about moisture...September typically...like August is a dry month...nothing out of the ordinary this September...not too dry...not too wet. *** Rainfall will be near to slightly below average. *** Area rivers will continue to relax...that is great news going into Winter and next Spring.

Where do these jokers go when their forecasts dont verify? I saw another winter forecast a week or two back that said record cold and snow for much of northern and central mo..looks like a recycled forecast from last year from that same group (i dont remember what group but i usually dont care, especially when it looks like a fake). These posters are just trolls looking to stir up trouble. As DM points out, just way too early. The group that seems to be doubling down for early october...he is just going to lose all credibility so early in the cool season.

You can take this heat 😫! lol. I like this weather. Then snow ranks as my second favorite. Extreme cold is down there pretty far on my list. You might be recalling my rant abt the ssw last year a bit out of context. That thing was talked abt for a month before it impacted us with 2 days of extreme cold. I dont like cold without snow, if its cold it may as well snow.

Honestly... all of this heat should spell good news for winter. I expect a pretty healthy slingshot into the cold season when it gets here.
