Fizzle is the word of the day... Still room for kaboom but it's definitely a struggle so far...always a tough call on a day like today.

Looks like the towers are having trouble with warm layer and/or weak subsidence still...based on what Im seeing in the storm runner. Still close.

HRRR duo and RAP are firing more storms each run along the front this evening. Environment will stay favorable for supercells until the front passes

We are sooooooo close to breaking through that layer. Little puffs go up...and then get knocked down. Just not enough convergence so far.

It’s fine. Apparently it’s snowing down by Joplin. So who knows what to expect 😂

Almost came down and saw you at Lakeside 370, Chris. Twocats and I both live in the subdivision on the top of the river bluff to the south of the park. If the trees weren't leafed out Twocats might have been able to see you from her back yard.

I feel like I personally saved the area from a terrible storm today by chasing lol. Im certain that had I stayed home all hell would have broken lose.
Seriously though, it was nice to get out again and I am happy things stayed mostly trapped under the cap/subsidence inversion.

Then wife arrived home with supper. Priorities. I'm sure you understand

I meant to share the 370 tornado memory a couple days ago from 6 years ago which is one of my favorite chases.

Anyone else concerned about the lack of precip the entire gfs run. I’m sticking to my guns from earlier that this summer will be quite dry.

Correct me if I’m wrong but there appears to be a good bit of dust blowing in the air this morning. I noticed lots of blowing dust reports across the southern plains yesterday evening when the front was going through and it was pretty evident on radar.

It does look dry for the next week as a cut off low develops underneath a ridge (noticing a pattern) to our east. The metro points east has been very dry to start June. Another week without rain and some minor drought conditions could start setting in

Yesterday on satellite you could see dust being picked up behind the front as it marched eastward. Notice how post frontal has a milky look to the imagery

Yep, you could see the dust cloud sweep through this morning on hi-res satellite as well. N TX, E CO, W KS and W OK have been quite dry.

Compared to the last few days the wind makes it feel a little chilly out. It’s nice.

This is a beautiful day. I wish the entire summer was like this. Got the mowing and watering done early. Now there's plenty of time to relax and enjoy the breeze.

Chris what's with all the new reporters at Fox 2? Did several leave? Or is management just increasing the reporting staff?

Big step forward this evening following my ankle injury last January... finished my first half-marathon since getting back into running. Can't have better weather for it, imo.
