You are correct, I just checked the gauge online at our farm, and it shows us getting 1.2" in Vienna, and the map only shows .09" in Carbondale which is just North of us Losers & Winners I believe that map went until noon Saturday. I know the far east side definitely had much more rain after noon.

Major flood emergency underway on the SC coast. That feeder band off the ocean reminds me of Harvey/Houston. It obviously won’t last near as long but it’s very impressive right now.

Yes, she has something coming from the SW with Cold air trying to come down from Canada..would be fun for something to spin up and ride the gradient south of us but close enough..like I said at least lie to us for some model riding enjoyment 😉 it's been so damn boring!

2.5" is the snowfall total for 2023 so far. If we don't get anything in the next 2 weeks then 2023 will tie 2001 for the 2nd least amount of snow in a calendar year. 1954 only had 1.5".

2023 was coming off a triple La Nina to a moderate El Nino. 2001 was coming out of a triple La Nina but only made it to 'neutral' status. 1954 was coming out of a weak El Nino headed toward a triple La Nina. An analog there would point toward a winter like 01-02. It sucks comparing calendar year data sets and meteorological year data sets when trying to develop an analog. Also, I have .438" of 'ice' in my gauge from Saturday's rain.

My mom that lives a couple blocks away from me in O'fallon felt the 3.2 earthquake that just happened by Waltonville IL. I didn't feel a thing.

Our time stamps are the same, I was down in the basement writing the previous text and I didn't feel it. Being from CA, it's the smaller ones that I miss. Like volcanoes, tornadoes, hurricanes, anything natural, Mother Nature is a very humbling force.

I knew it was windy but not that windy. Seeing fb reports of power lines down around bryan rd to feise rd. Maybe an accident. You can always count on accidents hapoening any time.

51° is the forecast high here on Monday. Might be a Summer BBQ Christmas if the rain holds off!

Things get weird after Christmas with a bunch of cutoffs floating around randomly.
Models won’t be able to do anything with that, but maybe we can get one to spin in the right place for some snow.
Probably not though.

Very Funky looking pattern after Xmas...as WSC said maybe something will deliver the goods. Interested in reading today's write up on if there will be any SSW in January..

Rain in NoCA. I have a 93 year old mother who needs help with her place, and more family visits, so I’ve been back there three times since Summer. Going back in January, my luck if it finally snows here, it’ll happen then. Haven’t seen a flake since the beginning of the year. Not even in WI for Thanksgiving. Had some cold bursts, but also wrapped garland on my cousin’s porch in shirtsleeves one day.
Something has to shift, this stinks. So if you see a flake, any flake, post a pic.

Not a flake of snow yet in St. Louis. How crazy is that? It seems a lock for us to record the latest first trace of snow in STL history! I've looked at the official stats and it sure looks like we are about to break the record for the latest first flakes of the season.
