We managed to get next to nothing out of that massive storm….. I’m sure a few short miles away got a good soaking though

It’ll be interesting to see how tonight plays out. You would think we’d be in line for pretty good MCS looking at the upstream radar

Scratch that, maybe golf ball. I filed a claim after the March 31st storm. Still waiting on an adjuster

.89” here. Neighbors’ trampoline ended up in another neighbor’s yard without its legs. Glad it went away from me.

Five. Hundredths.
I swear most of that rain evaporated as it fell...it looked like way more falling.
I'm afraid the current radar depiction is going to look very similar for much of the summer with storms across IL and the OHV and nothing across MO.

We had a couple of good downpours, managed to get 4 tenths of an inch. I heard that around Freeburg water was standing in the fields and by the time you get to St.Libory it barely settled the dust

Have to wonder what the strong outflow from the Illinois storms effects on the incoming line.

Happy Birthday REB We had the kids and grandkids over today for RCn', fishin', 4 wheelin' and foodn' It was an awesome day. I kicked the AC on this morning for the first time this year mainly because I had to cook and bake. Started that around 9ish. It would have been turned on at some point today anyway. My remote logged a high of 92* today, 7 miles west of De Soto. The storms to the east midday looked awesome, just wish/hope we get some rain here overnight/tomorrow. Nothing severe and certainly no 7". I have learned to be careful what I ask for.

So I just animated the Fox2 radar, and was wondering why the storms are going back and forth and back and forth. Seemed really bizarre to me.

Storms are continuing to avoid the MO side like a plague...pretty wild to watch these cells blow up right along and E of the river all day and all night. Once again, we got skirted here.

Looks like a nice outflow boundary with a line of showers headed southwest just getting to northern JeffCo in MO. My fingers are crossed. I would have thought with all the heting today it would have already 'exploded' but maybe that is just the concrete island effect?

So I just animated the Fox2 radar, and was wondering why the storms are going back and forth and back and forth. Seemed really bizarre to me. The outflow from the storms in IL is undercutting the flow aloft, forcing storms to develop and drift eastward but propagating W/SW with the outflow boundary. It's fascinating(and frustrating) how they are consistently hitting a brick wall at the river though.

Parts of Springfield now over 10”. Watching radar I’d say that’s accurate. They were under intense bands almost all evening

Finally, some rain!!!
I couldn’t be a farmer, the weather was maddening watch it evaporate or split right south of us yesterday. Not one drop until this AM. Even this line seems to be having a hard time.

Well, shame that it was in and out quickly. Really needed the rain! Maybe this will layout outflows for more storms later, though my guess is it will be well south and east of us.

We received about .4 with that quick line this morning

We received about .4 with that quick line this morning I didn't have my 'rain can' out but looking at Storm Total on radar we are 'solidly' in the .3" or less category. I heard 3 rumbles of thunder and looked at the last 3 hours of radar and I am sure we did not get .3". The inital line kind of split and reformed just south of me. There are a few patches of .5-1" on radar estimate just, and I mean JUST, south and east of me. Maybe later today.
