Well, I don't live in Illinois, so It's not raining here. This has been rather annoying for months now. We stay mostly dry while things grow big time from St Louis on into IL. Last week I think we managed a quarter inch. Had a few sprinkles tonight. Yay. Ya no kidding. Weather radio went off around 12:30-1am. Looked at radarscope and seen the warned cell moving in. I was like, well looks like we might get the gust front, but that's about it. Fell back asleep. Woke up to very dry ground still. And ya, it's all in Illinois. Looking west on radar you would think we will have a rainy day coming. Doubts are very high. It sucks...

Last week I think we managed a quarter inch. Had a few sprinkles tonight. Yay. In my almost two years of living in Perryville I've also noticed that it is quite the opposite. It seems that storms, no matter how big or small, tend to find their way to P-town. I can't count the number of times we have had rain at the house (boo to mowing grass) and have had little to no rain in stg where I actually need it on the farm. Happening again this morning! That being said, we have done ok rain wise this summer down across the majority of the southern areas.

De Soto is being/has been left out of the rain so far. I heard thunder last night but can't confirm it rained. Heard thunder this morning and the ground was barely damp. NWS rainfall totals seem to show that with .5" east of De Soto. Anyone close by with actual amounts??

Storms got a little more widespread than I expected last night/this morning...and Im not sure how that will impact the trends for later today. I do think we will see scattered redevelopment this afternoon...but not sold on anything severe due to reduced instability.

I was just about to ask this very question. Been getting sprinkled off and on this morning in Washington....nothing to get excited about tho whatsoever

I've had some good downpours. But they only last a few minutes. Better than nothing but I'm not sure it's doing a whole lot of good.

Looking at surface charts, radar, satellite imagery... there are multiple outflows which have kicked the effective low level boundary into southeast MO...where temps are in the low 80s. My guess is the most intense afternoon storms will end up near that boundary...far supressed from stronger shear...which should limit overall severe potential. However... some heavy rain from quasi- repeating storms may become a concern south of the Missouri River and I-64 later today.

Currently setting at 1" 9 tenths this morning and 1 tenth yesterday evening. Today was going to be mowing day, now maybe tomorrow afternoon! Still pouring here, and by the looks of the radar we have at least another hour or two to go.

Started around 1:45-2 AM. Rained pretty hard for a bit. We just got dumped on in Festus.

Rain rates are unreal with these storms today They really are! I think Farmington could use a flash flood warning or something along those lines due to some street flooding I'm seeing.

So that's another 1.4" of rain today. Almost 2" on the month.
Had almost 6" in July. And near 4.5" on June.
Pretty wild discrepancy over the metro.

1.9" today at KFAM officially, with a large portion of that amount falling within about 20 min. There was a narrow, more intense band of rain that impacted a small portion of the SE corner of the city, however I don't have any measuring devices that I know of within that area to get an accurate measure of what really fell. The street and small stream flooding in those areas was fairly intense.

Here in Red Bud that next slug of moisture moving in. As the lighter shower started it just made it muggier and now the Thunder stuff is moving in. Probably going to be a deluge

A friend of mine lost 3 of his cattle this morning when lightening struck the tree they were under about 4 am. One of them was an old cow, one was a young one with a two week old calf (the calf survived) and a young bull. Luckily the rest of his herd must have been somewhere else when it happened. I had heard of this happening, but never seen it before. The lightning also knocked out his well pump.
